    Accommodation in Moscow

    Share

Where to stay in Moscow? There are at least five ways to solve this issue.

    You can book a hotel

If you are in luck and find a cute mini-hotel with reasonable prices you'll pay about 80-100 dollars per night. It's very cheap for Moscow. More attractive are hotels of average price category and pleasant service (3-4 stars). If you stay in such a hotel you'll have to pay approximately 150-180 dollars per night. The high class hotels prices begin from 250 dollars (5 stars).

But you should be ready that good average price hotel in Moscow is rarity. Not because all of them are bad. There are objectively few adequate hotels in Moscow. The land prices in the city are too high and developers construct elite homes to sell quickly, office buildings, trade centers or high class hotels. But not average ones. Thus you'll have to book the rooms in advance.

You can rent a serviced apartment

The advantages of private apartment rental are obvious. Firstly there is a lot of offers. When real estate prices in Moscow have been rising at a frantic pace muscovites have invested in the purchase of apartments. Now all these objects are rented. And the tourists have a wide choice. Secondly it's the best option if you want to stay away from the noise. But of course if you want to meet new people the hotel is more suited. And thirdly in most cases you can get an apartment for lower price then in the hotel that provide service of similar level. Prices to apartments in the center of Moscow begin from 140 dollars per night. Fourthly you can stay there with a big company or receive guests at any time.

You can stay in a hostel

If you are young guys and travel in a large company you can rent a room or two in a hostel. In the average hostel room three or four person can be accommodated. Prices begin from 30 dollars per night. In hostel there is usually one kitchen provided with all needed household appliances. And there are one or two bathrooms.

You can rent a unserviced private room on arrival

I cannot imagine why you will do so. But some people all the same try to tempt fate. It's very risky firstly. And secondly to deal with russians that speak english or other languages you should know where to look for them. I strongly recommend to know in advance where you will stay in Moscow. It's not Bali or Goa. By the way on arrival you have to register in the district passport office. It will be difficult to do if you don't exactly know your location.

    You can stay with friends

Probably the cheapest option (I hope your friends will forgive me). Of course you know perfectly well all the advantages and shortcomings of this alternative.
