Moscow Museum of Modern Art

Definitely the main exhibition of Moscow art winter. The curator Yuri Avvakumov has selected the significant works of the last 20 years created by Russian contemporary artists. The spaces which used to be private chambers, classrooms and hospital halls have now become halls of the museum. So the doors have been taken off to symbolize the absolute openness of the current artistic process.

The large-scale (3,5 to 4,5 meters) canvas by Petr Konchalovsky named «Bathing of the Red Cavalry» opens the exhibition. It was painted in 1928 for the tenth anniversary of the Red Army and has never exhibited or published for more than 80 years!
