There are more than thousand cafes, bars and restaurants in Moscow. But just a few of them attract trendy young people. Here is my subjective top 6 of the most pleasant Moscow cafes and bars.
Jean-Jacques
My favorite cafe is vine bar in the french style Jean-Jacques. Actually I think it's the only french cafe in Moscow. Prices are average. You can get dinner (without vine) for 25-30 dollars. In the evening the accordionist play in the hall. People are relaxed and joyful. It's visitors are really different - from serious businessmen and editors-in-chief of the most powerful Russian issues to students. Located on Nikitsky Blvd (Arbatskaya metro station).
Simachev Bar
Simachev is designer, export model of russian contemporary fashion. His bar is one of the most pleasant places in Moscow. Located in Stoleshnikov Lane, the core of Moscow luxury, it attract both celebrities, jet set and ordinary young people.
Simachev Bar is especially loved for cocktails, food and music. The nearest metro stations are Tverskaya, Pushkinskaya, Chekhovskaya, Okhotny Ryad.
Solyanka

In a short time Solyanka club has turned into the family of brands - cafe, bar, club, shop and the summer post in Petersburg. The favorite place of the most Moscow young people. Not expensive, westernized, homelike. Situated on Solyanka Street (Kitay-Gorod metro station).
Luch (Ray)

This art-cafe is located in the space of former lamp factory on Pirogovskaya Street not far from Novodevichiy Monastery (Sportivnaya metro station). Mixed menu, the variety of drinks, high ceilings, remarkable interior, but high prices. And you have to reserve a table in advance.
John Donne

John Donn, the english pub, is the close neighbor of Jean-Jacques cafe. It's also located on Nikitsky Blvd. The prices are similar. You can get a simple dinner without alcohol for 25-30 dollars. For soccer fans there are several TV panel that broadcast the matches.
Cappuccino
I put this art-cafe in the end of the list. But it's the best place to eat. Not expensive (you can get a dinner for about 20-25 dollars), big portions, classic italian food, pleasant interior, a lot of cute details in the design. In addition it's located just between John Donne and Jean-Jacques on Nikitsky Blvd. The coffee is not very good indeed. But the rest of menu is worth to try. I often have my lunches there for already 8 years. And I was really surprised when haven't found any picture of Cappuccino in internet. Next time I'll shoot it.
