    Moscow flea markets

    Share

I’ve decided to make a real surprise for collectors and fans of exclusive things. A list of Moscow flea markets. They’re not so picturesque as the flea markets of Paris and London, but their prices may start from 10 cents.

    Lianozovo’s flea market

The Moscow's largest flea market is located on the northern outskirts of Moscow near electric train station "Mark". It's rather inconvenient: there’re no parking, to get there you should walk on gravel. "Mark" looks like a colorful gypsy camp. The mounts of clothes smelling of mothballs, rusty utensils and tools are piled near the entrance. But away from the entrance you can find something really valuable. On the "Mark" you can often find stylish young people selecting rare jeans of sixties, shirts, coats or jackets. On a good day Lianozovo market gather from 4 to 6 thousand of traders, who lay out their wares right under the feet of the buyers. However if you want to buy something really exclusive and not expensive, you have to come early.

How to get there: by electric train from Savelovsky terminal (Savelovskaya metro station) between «Mark" and "Lianozovo» stops.

    Flea market in Izmailovo

Izmailovo market is mostly focused on tourists, so prices there are not very "flea". All the familiar matryoshkas, khokhlomas and fur caps are traded here. But you can find cute antique teapots, samovars, irons, gramophones, canes, galoshes and typewriters. And a whole range of busts of the Soviet leaders. Things are mostly from the Soviet era, you can hardly find there pre-revolutionary goods. There are a shopping street for artists.

How to get there: «Partizanskaya» metro station (former "Izmailovsky Park"), 10 min by foot towards the hotel complex "Izmailovo".

    Flea market on Shkolnaya street

Recently in Moscow has opened a new legal flea market outside school near the city center. This flea market was opened specially for the elderly, who have long requested the authorities to provide them with a platform for trade in goods, second-hand. The market works in the first and third Saturday of the month.

How to get there: "Rimskaya" or "Ploshad Ilyicha" metro stations, Shkolnaya street.
