Moscow meets the scale exhibition of Pablo Picasso. From February 25th to May 23th in Pushkin Museum of Fine Art one can see 240 works by Picasso from Paris museum.

There’re paitings, sculptures, graphics and photos of blue, pink, cubistic and neoclassic times. The organizers promise that the exposition let follow the evolution of Picasso’s creative career. The keepings will be added with works from the Pushkin Museum. In addition visitors of the exhibition will see the special chapter «Picasso and Russia».There’re portraits of dancer Olga Khokhlova (artist’s wife), Sergey Diaghilev, Igor Stravinsky, sketches to the ballets «Parade», «Tricorn», «Pulcinella» in it.

"Bathers", 1918, canvas, oil, Picasso Museum, Paris Picasso had never visited Moscow. Meanwhile his work had a tremendous influence to Moscow art life. His first oficial exhibition was organized in 1956th. Then it was like t a breath of fresh air. His work seemed incomprehensible, bizarre and free. Thousands people were waiting in long tales to see them. Now the art exhibition visitors are very difficult to impresse. But rare artist is worth to be called genius while he lives. So this exhibit is "must see" of course. By the way the great reconstruction of Pushkin Museum starts in coming years. Museum Village will be built on its territory. |
